This assignment allowed us to incorporate more creativity than the standard news package. After pitching three ideas to our professor, he assigned us one. We were given four days to shoot, edit and submit the final product. This time I decided to shoot differently. Instead of using a tripod with all of my shots, I took the risk of shooting freehand. I ran across a couple problems when I decided to shoot inside of a local mall. Several security officers approached me about not being able to shoot inside. I wouldn't consider myself a criminal, but I did what needed to be done, in order for me to catch the shots I needed. This taught me how to get material quickly without wasting any time. The overall experience was great. Because we were only given four days, it required us to think quickly and efficiently, just as professional journalist do.
